Alie Reed, Veterinary Assistant

Alie began her animal career at America‚Äôs Teaching Zoo in The Exotic Animal Training and Management program, where she worked with a large variety of primates, carnivores & birds.  During that program she had the opportunity to work & learn at the LA Zoo & UC Davis Raptor Center. Alie had originally gone into the program wanting to be a large cat trainer, but began to realize her passion for working with medically in-need animals. After graduating in 2012, she interned at the CA Wildlife Center rehabilitating injured wildlife. She loved it and had found her calling in animal medicine.

Alie went on to earn an A.S. in Animal Science, A.S. Wildlife Education & Management and an A.S. in Animal Training & Behavior. Currently, Alie is pursuing her 4th Associates of Science, A.S. in Veterinary Technology and is on her way to be become a Registered Veterinary Technician.

Her dog Zeppelin is a 4 year Lab/ Husky mix. She had originally had her heart set on a German Shepard rescue puppy, but a few days later she has a chance meeting with Zeppelin at the Lancaster shelter. In Alie's down time, which is not much since she goes to school & works on a ranch as well as working at Buena Vet, she loves hiking with Zeppelin.
